Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp showed how well he is ready for this season’s Champions League when he led his boys to rip Hoffenheim apart in the play off round of the competition.
The Reds have found themselves in the group stages and will play against La Liga side Sevilla in the opening group game.
Worthy of remembrance is that Sevilla beat Liverpool in the Europa League final two years ago. But it is generally known that so much has changed since then.
And as far as the Reds team news is concerned, Brazilian superstar Philippe Coutinho is touted to make a final return to Jurgen Klopp’s first team after taking part in the pre-season tours.
To include Phil in the starting XI, Klopp is expected to make a slight change in his usual 4-3-3 system and should opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation. This system will allow the samba playmaker play in the attacking third in the No.10 role behind his countryman Firmino in the No. 9 position.
Both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are likely to start on the wings again following their impressive performances since the start of the season.
In the place of Mignolet, Karius should be used inbetween the sticks and the likes of Gomez, Lovren and Robertson should be at the backline in front of the shot-stopper.
Here is Liverpool’s probable 4-2-3-1 starting XI Vs Sevilla on Wednesday.
GK – Karius
DL – Robertson
DC – Lovren
DC – Matip
DR – Gomez
MC – Henderson
MC – Can
AL – Mane
AC – Countiho
AR – Salah
FC – Firmino
