Former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has climbed to the top of Chelsea’s wishlist to replace manager Antonio Conte this summer transfer window.

According to The Daily Mail, Luis Enrique has become the most appealing tactician for Chelsea as he remains without a team.

Both Argentine and current Atletico Madrid tactician Diego Simeone and Italian Massimo Allegri, who have also been targets for the Blues, are under contract at their respective sides until 2020.

The Premier League champions are hoping for a quick appointment should the former Juventus manager leave the West London club this summer.

Conte to leave in the summer

It is widely believed that the Italian tactician will leave Stamford Bridge when the current season ends following constant clashes with Club board over transfer activities.

Reports had claimed that Antonio Conte could stay at the club after Nigerian Michael Emenalo left the West London club, but his exit is thought to have only added more problems to the relationship between the manager and the club hierarchy.

The former Italy National team manager has clashed with both Spain international striker Diego Costa and Brazil international defender David Luiz during his spell at the club, with the club highly frustrated by the way Costa’s time at West London came to an end.
