According to the Evening Standard, North London giant Arsenal have suffered a major blow in their chase of a new sporting director, with Borussia Dortmund Director Michael Zorc poised to stay at the German Bundesliga club.
The Premier League side have been making good progress in their effort to freshen up their recruitment team at the Emirates club and have already had successful talks with Bundesliga giant Borussia Dortmund.
The development was confirmed earlier in the week that the Emirates club have named Sven Mislintat as the Premier League club’s new chief scout. However, plans looked to have been set for Zorc to join the North London club as the new sporting director.
Borussia Dortmund, though, are interested in keeping a hold of their man, who has delivered a lot of success from his position in recent times.
Like Sven Mislintat, Michael Zorc has overseen a number of progression at the German Bundesliga club and has contributed to the acquisition of a number of impressive young talents.
However, the duo won’t be working together at least for now at the Emirates Stadium, it looks like, Michael Zorc is poised to stay back in Germany.
Regardless of the administrative shake-up at the club, Arsene Wenger’s men will be in Germany on Thursday to play FC Koln in the Europa League.
