Alex Iwobi confirms highly-rated superstar will join Arsenal Squad
Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi has tipped youngster Chuba Akpom to become the next big thing to come through the famous Arsenal academy to join the senior team. Both Chuba Akpom and Alex Iwobi played at the Arsenal academy together and are good friends outside of the game of football, they have known one another since they were only three years old.
Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has made it to the senior team setting at the North London club and also helped his National team to qualify for the FIFA World Cup by netting the winning goal against Zambia a week ago for Nigeria. Since graduating to Wenger’s first team, Alex Iwobi has played 66 matches for the Emirates club but Chuba Akpom who also hails from the West African country of Nigeria is still patiently waiting for his senior team breakthrough.
Alex Iwobi said in an interview with The Metro when he backed his Academy teammate for a first team place at Arsenal.
Chuba Akpom has long been a prominent name for England during many youth competitions and also has always impressed during Gunner’s pre-season tours but is still battling to make it to the senior team.
