According to French media reports, Liverpool are close to completing a deal for Nabil Fekir from French side Lyon.

Liverpool keen on second summer signing

French publication Canal Plus, as cited by Metro, is claiming that Liverpool are close to sealing a big-money transfer deal to sign the 24-year-old this summer transfer window.

The Reds have already got their summer transfer activity underway by sealing a deal to land Brazil international midfielder Fabinho to Merseyside last month.

Now, Liverpool are thought to be closing in on a transfer deal to sign Fekir.

Liverpool target want move before World Cup

As per the same report, Fekir himself is interested in making the move to Anfield and he wants to have his playing future resolved before the FIFA World Cup commences in Russia later in the month.

The same report states that Fekir will cost about £70million, which would make him the team’s second most expensive recruit after Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk.

The Reds are thought to be in the transfer market for a couple of new recruits this summer window as manager Jurgen Klopp looks to build a squad capable of challenging for the League title next campaign.

The Reds finished the league season in fourth position trophyless last term after they lost the UEFA Champions League final to La Liga giants Real Madrid.
