According to reports, Arsenal and Premier League Champions Manchester City are leading the race to land Norwich City midfielder James Maddison.
English duo want youngster
The Daily Mirror is claiming that the two English teams are interested in a deal to land the 21-year-old midfield maestro, with the likes of Everton, Tottenham Hotspurs, Brighton and Southampton all keen as well.
James Maddison has been in brilliant shape for Norwich City this campaign, netting 14 goals and providing eight assists in 44 English Championship matches for the Canaries.
He recently sustained a knee problem, but the injury is not thought to be a serious one as earlier feared and the midfielder is only prepared to be sidelined for about eight to 10 weeks.
Arsenal lead race
As per the same article, it is Arsenal and City who are leading the transfer race to land Maddison this summer transfer window after his brilliant form for the Championship team.
The Gunners are likely to be connected with a number of footballers in the next couple of weeks as Arsenal prepares for life after French tactician Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal are poised to play their last match under Wenger on Sunday as his 22-year spell as the North London club boss comes to an end.
