According to reports, former Premier League champions Chelsea are yet to agree on a transfer fee with Juventus for defender Daniele Rugani despite agreeing on personal terms.
Chelsea seek defensive reinforcement
The option to sign a central defender this summer window is a must for the West London club who hope to strengthen their team especially in defence, where David Luiz and Gary Cahill have heavily struggled last term. Both centre-halfs have clocked 30 and do not seem capable of giving the kind of solidity required in defence.
As per a tweet by Uber Chelsea, cited Sport Italia, as claiming the Blues have agreed on personal terms with the young defender in a five-year contract but all that is left is for both sides to agree on a transfer fee.
Quality young defender
The Juventus defender will certainly come in handy. At just 23 years, he is not a sure starter for the Serie A champions and the Italian National team but has been decent anytime he has been called upon.
Denmark international defender Andreas Christensen and Spaniard Cesar Azpilicueta have been great for Chelsea while Germany international Antonio Rudiger also displayed he can be a brilliant player at Stamford Bridge, last term. If Rugani joins Chelsea, they will have more formidable at the back to last the entirety of the season.
