Unai Emery takes swipe at Wenger

Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be the best manager the club has ever produced in terms of his achievement with the team.

But that seems different with the opinion of his successor Unai Emery who claims the team was at a zero level when he took over in the summer transfer window.

Wenger closed the chapter of his reign at the Emirates Stadium after 22 years in charge and a new one was opened by the Spanish boss.

Emery, therefore, stated that he saw a big need to change things so as to make the situation better with a new playing style and a new identity on the field.

However, Emery hailed the French boss and what he has achieved at the club stressing that he has high regard and respect for Wenger.

He pointed that despite the good enjoyed in the course of Wenger’s reign there was a destructive structure at the end which gave the club the bad results that were experienced.

Meanwhile, with just a few points away from the top four, the press is still on to ensure the end justifies the means.

With the international break over, Arsenal will resume the Premier League challenge against Bournemouth on Sunday.
