Amidst exit rumours, David De Gea “rubbished” with this words by former player

With fears that Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea will be leaving the Old Trafford in the coming summer window after he delayed to sign a new deal at the club, there have been some rating of the stopper in comparison with a legendary stopper.

Red Devils legend Andrei Kanchelskis has hailed the Spanish goalkeeper as being the best at the moment but made it clear that he is not any better than his former teammate Peter Schmeichel.

There is no doubt that the Red Devils have been blessed with a number of talented goalkeepers right from inception with Peter Schmeichel making his impact before his retirement with the former Atletico Madrid stopper also being rated as one of the best of his time.

The Red Devils legend stated that David De Gea remains a good player who has all the qualities but noted that his former teammate is the best goalkeeper he has ever seen in his life.

However, the Red Devils are yet to secure a future for David De Gea who was keen on leaving the club. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, United interim manager has made it clear he hopes the Spanish goalkeeper extends his stay at the club.
