It is now widely known that Diego Costa is leaving Stamford Bridge this summer, and Monaco star player Kylian Mbappe has emerged as a target for Chelsea.
And Le10Sport are reporting that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte have identified the teenager as the ideal replacement for Costa, and he will make a late attempt to convince the French star to join Chelsea.
The 18-year-old was so impressive in the just concluded season – both in the Ligue I and in the Champions League. And as a result of his form, various big clubs across Europe have been trying to get his signature. Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Manchester City are long-time hunters, and Ligue I heavyweights PSG has recently joined in the race for Mbappe.
And now, Le10sport insists the Premier League champions will make a big play for the French starlet in the coming days and their Italian manager is set to meet Mbappe and his entourage over a potential transfer.
Definitely, the player won’t be coming cheaply, but money won’t be a problem for Conte. It is understood that he has been given huge money by the board to bolster his squad this summer, and he is also expecting a huge fund from Costa’s sale. Chelsea hopes to fetch at least £50 million for the Spanish forward this summer.
Chelsea are getting closer to signing Lukaku from Everton, and Mbappe is expected to partner Lukaku alongside Hazard in the attack next term.
