Arsenal and AC Milan have been boosted with the news that Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri will not stand in the way of defender Gary Cahill if the recently retired England international wants to leave the club in the upcoming transfer window.
Cahill, 32, has been strongly linked with the exit door at Chelsea with clubs like Arsenal and AC Milan interested in him.
Arsenal are in the transfer market for a new centre-back following the unfortunate injury to Rob Holding.
The young English defender suffered a serious knee injury in a collision with Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford in a Premier League clash between both clubs last week Wednesday and he has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
On the part of AC Milan, the seven-time European champions are also looking for at least one defensive addition though their main priority is to strengthen their midfield with another Chelsea player Cesc Fabregas linked to fill the vacuum left by the injuries to both Giacomo Bonaventura and Lucas Biglia.
Maurizio Sarri spoke about the possibility of Gary Cahill leaving the club during his pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s away game over Hungarian champions Vidi FC in the Europa League.
