Since the 3-0 defeat to Arsenal last September, Chelsea have gone on to have four victories in row in the premier league and this great run is largely due to the new 3-4-3 system by manager Antonio Conte which has been well adopted by the team.
Star defender Cesar Azpilicueta has revealed that he has thrived courtesy of the belief manager Antonio Conte has in him and that the players have embraced the new system without any problem
Speaking to Chelsea’s website the Spanish international said
“I have always felt the confidence of the manager since I arrived. Whatever position I play I always try to give my best, to do what the manager asked of me with my characteristics.
Since we changed the system it has worked well for us in the league and I try to adapt to it in the best way possible. We train hard in the week to do that and we are realizing in the game what we do in training. This is important for us, to see the results of all the work we are doing during the week.”
He continued “As a defender, obviously we are all pleased when we don’t concede goals, the same way the strikers are when they score, but I think the teamwork is really important The last results were good, four wins and we didn’t concede a goal – so that shows a lot of teamwork and we want to keep going in that way. I’m happy when the team wins and that is what I fight for
