Reigning Premier League Champions Chelsea are trying to add some new faces to their forward line in the January window and club head coach Antonio Conte has opted to approach one of Italy’s hottest young talents.
According to a report by Calciomercato, the Stamford Bridge giants are one of two English Premier League sides that are forcing for the winter signature of Fiorentina youngster Federico Chiesa.
The 20-year-old wide man came through the academy rank and burst into the limelight last campaign, playing a total of 34 matches in all competitions, netting four goals and making three assists.
Federico Chiesa has stepped up his performance this season, however, scoring four goals and providing a total of four more assists in 18 Italian Serie A matches.
Having agreed on a new deal with the Italian Serie A side in the month of November running until the summer of 2022, it’ll take a massive bid to convince the Serie A side to sell the right-winger.
The starlet is valued at €40million, Chelsea who forced Arsenal to a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night will face stiff competition from North London club Tottenham Hotspurs for Italy Under 21 international winger, but both Italian duos of Juventus and Napoli remain keen on signing the young attacking midfielder also.
