Premier League giants Chelsea are planning a raid on Italian Serie A giants Napoli ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to start as from the 1st of January.
The Blues have already made a big swoop on Napoli during this summer’s transfer window and they are ready to repeat the feat in the New Year.
Chelsea splashed the sum of £57m on Italian international midfielder Jorginho to secure his transfer from Napoli in the summer and trusted Italian media outlet calciomercato say that the 2012 Champions League winners are interested in a move for one of their defenders.
Albanian international right-back Elseid Hysaj is the said defender.
The 24-year-old had earlier been touted as a possible signing for the Blues in the summer shortly after Maurizio Sarri took charge of the team.
Sarri penned a three-year deal as the replacement for the sacked Antonio Conte.
The Italian has enjoyed a good working relationship with Elseid Hysaj dating back to when he was the Empoli manager.
Hysaj moved to Napoli in 2015 immediately after Sarri was named the manager.
Despite the summer exit of Sarri, Hysaj has remained a key player for the new Napoli setup under Italian tactician Carlo Ancelotti.
