Newly appointed Shangai Spi Coach Andre Villa Boaz has made it no-secret of his desire to prize away Chelsea’s Nigerian midfielder Mikel Obi.
The Portuguese who was also head coach at Stamford bridge for a short spell has made his intentions known to journalists while addressing them in a press conference yesterday in Shanghai.
The Nigerian midfielder who has barely featured for the Blues this season seemed like he was going to be central to Antonio Conte’s side having started in all pre-season matches until he went for the Olympic games in Brazil and has been unable to feature for the London side ever since.
Amidst allegations of him facing punishments playing for his country in Brazil by Super Eagles coach Gehrt Rohr, the midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away from the London outfit.
It remains to be seen where next the veteran midfielder will pitch his tent after leaving Stamford Bridge but it has been noted that there are no shortage of suitors as the Nigerian is being linked with move to big clubs like AC Milan, Juventus, Inter Milan, Galatasaray, Fernabache, Sevilla amongst others.
The interest declared by Villa Boaz is nothing short of a confirmation that is time at Chelsea is coming to an end after spending over a decade with the Blues.
