Apart from Van Dijk, Liverpool got an eye on another exciting Southampton player in the person of Dusan Tadic.
And according to latest reports, the talented player would welcome a move to Anfield in the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old has scored 16 times in 121 appearances for Southampton since joining them in the summer of 2014. However, Tadic is being linked with a move to Liverpool ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
The Times are reporting that the attacking midfielder would be open to joining up with the Reds at Merseyside in the coming months.
It was claimed that the Serbian star has grown frustrated at St Mary’s as a result of a lack of progress at the club since manager Claude Puel arrived last year.
The Serbia international is said to have a £13million release clause in his current deal at Southampton. Liverpool are reportedly at alert despite their recent embarrassment involving their pursuit of Tadic’s teammate Virgil van Dijk.
A few days ago, the Anfield club were forced to apologise to Southampton FC and officially ended any interest in Virgil Van Dijk.
However, Jurgen Klopp is bringing Champions League football back to Anfield next season and is keen on bolstering his squad. Tadic might push his move to Liverpool this summer for the opportunity of playing in the Champions League.
