Manchester United have agreed on a deal to sign Chelsea target and AS Monaco midfielder, Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to reports.
The Blues have been linked with a move for the French midfielder throughout this window, with reports that the player is also open to a Premier League move.
However, Chelsea have not been able to tie up a deal to sign Bakayoko despite the player’s interest leaving AS Monaco furious with the manner which the transfer has been handled.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is believed to be in need on a new face in the midfield as plans to bolster his squad ahead of next season.
The Red Devils were tipped to make a move for Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic which could be surplus to requirements at the Stamford Bridge due to reports that Blues boss, Antonio Conte is keen on adding a new face to his midfield to partner French midfielder, N’Golo Kante.
Matic is understood to have held talks with Mourinho over a possible reunion at the Old Trafford but it appears the tables have turned with reports in Daily Star claiming that Manchester United have instead agreed £35 million a deal with Monaco to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko.
This comes days after United hijacked Chelsea transfer move for Romelu Lukaku who was largely linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for the most part of the summer window.
