After successfully winning the Premier League title in his first campaign at Chelsea and in England last season, Italian boss Antonio Conte is determined to utilise this summer transfer window to add more quality to his squad ahead of a busy campaign next term.
Even though his side are yet to make a major signing this summer unlike other top rivals like Man United, Liverpool, and Man City, Stamford Bridge club have been linked with a handful of top players and are expected to announce their first signing on Saturday after Tiemoue Bakayoko reportedly passed his medical.
The Italian manager won’t be losing focus on his commitment to bolstering his squad as, according to reports in Italy, the premier league champions have made contact with Bayern Munich over the availability of Jerome Boateng this summer.
The Germany international has earned a reputation as one of Europe’s best defenders since leaving Manchester City for Bayern Munich back in 2011. He is however linked with a move away from Munich ahead of the 2017/18 season.
According to Sky Italy, Chelsea have approached the German champions over the possibility of landing the 28-year-old in the coming months, with Antonio Conte keen on reinforcing his defense.
John Terry is leaving to join Aston Villa in the Championship this summer and Boateng, who won the World Cup with Germany, will be a good replacement for the departing legend.
