Arsenal and Manchester United target Elseid Hysaj has revealed to his Serie A club Napoli that one club are ready to pay his £43.7m release clause this summer but he refused to give the specific name of the club according to the Mirror.
Hysaj joined Napoli in 2015 from Empoli’s youth set-up after impressing the Naples’ boards.
The 24-year-old has been progressing steadily since his switch to the Serie A club and he is presently one of the best defenders in the Serie A league.
The right-back is one of the ever-present players in Maurizio Sarri’s starting lineup this season, helping the team remain in the second position on the league table and they are still in contention for the Scudetto glory as they are only a point behind Juventus who are first on the log.
Arsene Wenger might be forced to get a new right-back this summer as his trusted right-back, Hector Bellerin is reportedly ready to dump the Gunners for a switch to either Barcelona or Manchester United in the summer.
His bid to replace the Spaniard should he finally leave the North London club, Wenger believes Hysaj’s potential, experience and strength will surely make him the perfect replacement for the want-away defender.
Manchester United are also keeping a close eye on the right-back and Mourinho is planning to hijack Wenger’s move for the player in the summer.
Luke Shaw is certain to leave Old Trafford by the end of the season due to his not-too-good relationship with the Mourinho.
The Portuguese manager is, therefore, hoping to beat Arsenal to the defender’s signature.
