According to Premium Sport, Chelsea tactician Antonio Conte is keen on adding a forward to his team during the winter transfer window and he’s made an approach with AS Roma as regards a deal to bring in former Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko.
The Bosnian international attacker has made a long-lasting impression on Antonio Conte this campaign, scoring on two occasions in a 3-3 draw at the Bridge during the UEFA Champions League groups stage matches which has helped increased his goals tally to 12 in 26 matches so far this campaign.
The 31-year-old striker was the top goal scorer in the Italian Serie A last campaign, scoring 29 goals and looks exactly like the player Conte needs up front this month – a physical and tall striker, who can lead the attack and be the target man of the attack.
The former Juventus boss is also considering transfer moves for forwards closer to the club with both West Ham United’s Andy Carroll and Crystal Palace forward Christian Benteke both named as winter transfer targets.
Reports indicate Chelsea are set to pay close to €50million for the forward and his club-mate Emerson Palmieri, who plays the left-back position.
The Blues would let the player’s club have Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi on loan as part of the transfer deal but the Italians are also demanding another €15m.
