Manchester United suffer massive brow as top target signs new deal
Premier League high-fliers Manchester United target Mirko Antonucci has penned a new contract at Serie A club AS Roma.
The Red Devils were named as one of four top European clubs monitoring the 18-year-old Antonucci.
The talent youngster was out of contract at AS Roma next summer, sparking interest from Old Trafford.
According to Italian publication Transfermarketweb, Serie A giants Inter Milan, Lazio and AC Milan o were also closely watching the player.
But AS Roma have ensured their academy graduate will not leave the club anytime soon.
The Italian Serie A side have pinned the wonderkid down to a new deal running until 2022.
Mirko Antonucci is one of their best in Roma’s reserve team and recently did well in a 3-0 UEFA Youth League win over Qarabag.
Reports claim Jose Mourinho’s team were planning on offering the teenager a deal to seal a free transfer at the end of the League season, rather than trying to sign him in January.
His Serie A club would have been due compensation fee had the free transfer gone ahead.
But Manchester United will likely have to table a big money offer to sign Antonucci now that he is tied down to a five-year deal.
AS Roma also confirmed new deals for youngsters Abdullahi Nura and Coly Keba.
