Premier League giants Chelsea have been given a big boost in their pursuit of Juventus defender Daniele Rugani after his father hinted that his time with the Old Lady is coming to an end.
Ubaldo Rugani took to his Facebook page to hint that his time at the Juventus Stadium would soon end.
The Italian international centre-back was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea during the summer’s transfer window but a transfer didn’t materialise.
The 24-year-old was touted as a possible Chelsea signing once new manager Maurizio Sarri took charge of the Blues in the summer.
Daniele Rugani has had to endure a lack of game time with the Old Lady in the new season.
The Italian defender is now fourth in the pecking order of centre-backs at Juventus following the return of compatriot Leonardo Bonucci to the club in the summer.
Bonucci initially left the Old Lady for rivals AC Milan in the summer of 2017 on the back of his bust-up with manager Maximiliano Allegri only for him to make a return to the Italian Serie A champions after one season at the San Siro.
Daniele Rugani is behind Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Mehdi Benatia in the centre back pecking order at Juventus.
