After winning the premier league impressively last season, it appears Chelsea won’t finish the current term on the top four spot of the table.
The West London club have been unimpressive this season, and they must take advantage of the upcoming summer transfer window to reinforce their squad by signing some new players.
On Saturday, they struggled vehemently to win a ‘somewhat weak’ side like Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium.
If there won’t be some changes at the end of this season, next term would be a more heartbreaking one (considering how other top English sides are set to splash lots of cash when summer comes).
Roman Abramovich can’t go on folding his arms, and the Russian billionaire is set to do something ‘big’. The club owner is trying to avoid a replica of his side’s current woes when next season comes.
According to reports circulating in Spain, Mr Roman is spearheading a move for one of Real Madrid’s talented stars.
The player in question is Marco Asensio, and it is believed the West London club have held initial talks over a move for him.
Asensio has a contract at Real Madrid meant to expire in 2023, but it is understood all is not fully fine between him and manager Zinedine Zidane.
If Chelsea should eventually sign him, Marco will definitely add lots of quality to the club.
