Barcelona have resigned to the fate that playmaker Philippe Coutinho won’t be a success at the club and they are ready to cut their losses on him.

This is according to the report from popular media channel ESPN which claimed that Barcelona will sell the Brazilian international in the summer after his UEFA Champions League (UCL) horror show against his former club.

Philippe Coutinho played against his former club Liverpool in both legs but he didn’t last until the hour mark in each of the two games.

The former Inter Milan player started both the first leg and the second leg but he was anonymous over the Champions League games with the Reds.

Philippe Coutinho has been a flop at Barcelona since his move from Premier League chasers Liverpool at the start of last year.

The Reds received an initial transfer fee of £116m from Barcelona for Coutinho and it’s safe to say that the Spanish giants have not gotten their money’s worth with his poor displays for the five-time European champions.

Philippe Coutinho has previously been linked with a return to the Premier League.

Manchester United and Chelsea have been mentioned as Premier League sides interested in a move for him as well as French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
