Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona have released a statement denying any wrongdoing in their pursuit of Paris Saint Germain (PSG) midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The Blaugrana released the statement on Sunday adding that they have not breached any regulations in their chase for the player.
The Catalans also revealed that they had discussions with the player on two occasions, in the month of August and a week ago.
Recent reports emanating from Spain had claimed that Barcelona have already agreed to a summer move to Barcelona on a free transfer but that was denied by the Spanish champions.
Adrien Rabiot has been in the news following the interests of several European heavyweights in signing him.
Apart from five-time European champions Barcelona, the young French midfielder has been touted as a possible signing for clubs like Premier League table toppers Liverpool, North London giants Arsenal, West Londoners Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
Adrien Rabiot has six months left on his PSG contract and the midfielder has rejected several offers of contract extensions from the French capital club and that singular act as not gone down well with senior club officials.
The 23-year-old has been banned from the PSG team indefinitely for his refusal to put pen to paper on a new contract with the club.
