Top Midfielder Reveals Regrets After Snubbing Manchester United Summer Move

Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches has revealed his regrets at his lack of playing chances at the Allianz Arena despite keen interest from Manchester United.

The Portuguese youngster was one of the title-winning side in France last summer, becoming one of the most sought after players during the last transfer window.

The former Benfica midfielder was monitored by several clubs after his heroics with Portugal last summer with Manchester United being at the fore-front of the pursuit but Sanches chose to join Bayern Munich ahead of the Red Devils.

But the midfielder has been benched for most parts of the current campaign, leaving him frustrated at his lack of chances at the German giants.

‘It was not very good, but the next season is sure to be better,’ Sanches said.

‘I was expecting more, of course, but I’m confident that the future will be better.

‘I had a few minutes this season and I have to play to be more and more prepared. I do not want to talk about that (what has gone wrong), I feel good at Bayern. The goal is to play more and be more influential in the team.’

Jose Mourinho is understood to an avid admirer of Sanches’ abilities but what remains yet to be known is whether the Portuguese boss will move for his compatriot this summer as he looks to bolster his squad ahead of next season.
