Chelsea striker Diego Costa appears destined to move away from Stamford Bridge this summer after being asked to leave the club by manager Antonio Conte at the end of last season.

He is expected to make a move back to his former Spanish club Atletico Madrid and right now, it is understood that the club’s manager Diego Simeone is pushing for his side to strike a deal for the striker after missing out on his other top transfer targets this summer.

Costa is said to be valued at £30million by Chelsea even though there were some other widespread speculations that the premier league champions are expecting nothing less than £60 Million for the talented player.

Simeone’s side have previously made a £22m offer for the Spain international and might be on their way to getting his signature as Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen to get him off the club.

The Italian manager has informed the 28-year-old that he wasn’t in his plans for next campaign by text message earlier this summer. Costa personally made the message known to the press, and that put Chelsea in a weak negotiating position.

The west London club have been linked with Romelu Lukaku as a replacement for Costa for much of this summer. However, Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United were able to persuade the Belgian to make a move to Old Trafford instead, and Chelsea will need to look towards other directions.
