Chelsea Veteran seeks Premier League return .

With an outstanding run form thus far this season, Aston Villa are ready to make another addition to their team to further boost their chances of returning to the English premier league next summer and one of such efforts is by enquiring for the services of Ashley Cole.

According to reports, the former Chelsea defender has emerged as a shock transfer target for Aston Villa after he was released by LA Galaxy.

The 37-year-old former England international was one of eight players expected to leave the MLS club after they failed to make the playoffs.

Cole who also played for Arsenal and was part of the Gunners invisible is weighing up his options and is understood to be interested in returning to England, four years after leaving his last Premier League club Chelsea.

The Mirror a prominent newspaper in England unveiled that the left-back received a number of offers from Championship clubs before it was even announced he was leaving Galaxy, with Villa said to be one of the sides keen on signing the former England full-back.

News also broke earlier in the week, that his former teammate at the Gunners, Thierry Henry who is coach of struggling French side Monaco is seeking a reunion with his former dressing room partner in France as he considers Cole as adequate cover for his team’s defensive lapses.

As it stands now, Ashley Cole will be making a decision on his career soon and most likely than not, Villa might be is next place of destination.
