According to reports in Russia, Premier League side Arsenal will complete a move for Aleksandr Golovin from CSKA Moscow.
A Russian news outlet Football Magazine says Arsenal will sign the midfielder this summer but the player will remain on loan with CSKA for at least another season.
Last weekend, there were widespread speculations that the North London club were in the ‘final stage’ of negotiations with the Russian club over a £10 million deal for the 21-year-old.
Right now, it seems the transfer will go ahead during the upcoming transfer window.
And Pavel Kucherov, Arsenal’s scout in Russia, said he was surprised about how public the deal has quickly gone because such things are not usually publicised but are kept in private. He was however of the opinion that the Russian international still needs time to develop at his club before making the step up to North London.
Kucherov also said Golovin is not talented enough for the European level and that it is unrealistic to discuss his transfer to a top Premier League club because to make it to a top Premier League club, the midfielder would need to improve his football in general, as well as his physical, psychological and mental attributes.
‘If he wants to prove himself in England, he will have to do it step by step. Because of high competition, he would be getting little playing time to prove himself.’ Kucherov concludes.
