Ruben Neves

Ex-Liverpool star Stan Collymore has urged his club to make a move for highly-rated Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves when the transfer window reopens in few weeks’ time.

In a chat with the Daily Mirror, the Liverpool legend said that the Reds have to boost their squad with quality signings this summer if they want to keep the pace with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table next season.

Stan Collymore went on to mention Wolves star Ruben Neves as one of the players that could improve the Reds in midfield.

The Liverpool midfielders were criticized at times this season for their lack of goals and creativity.

Stan Collymore wants Liverpool to maintain their status as a genuine challenger for the Premier League.

Despite their illustrious history, Liverpool have never won the Premier League since its inception in 1992.

Clubs like Blackburn Rovers, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have won the Premier League ahead of Liverpool.

The latest winners Manchester City beat the Reds by a point to win the Premier League title this season.

The Citizens also became the first team to retain the Premier League title for the first time in a decade (since Manchester United in 2009).
