Merseyside giants Liverpool have been trying to replace Phillipe Coutinho ever since the attacking midfielder left Anfield Stadium in the January transfer window to join La Liga side FC Barcelona.
Liverpool linked with Fekir
Liverpool have been strongly linked with Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir for some time and the transfer saga has taken several twists ever after the French side officially ended talks with Liverpool.
According to Get French Football News, the Reds will “return” for the France international attacker after the FIFA World Cup.
It’s been suggested that Liverpool have enough money and they are aware that the playmaker wants to link up with them.
Attacker wants out
According to British media reports, the 24-year-old attacker is pushing to seal Liverpool transfer. As per Mirror Sport, Nabil Fekir has reached an agreement with the French side to re-open negotiations with Liverpool.
The UK publication have suggested that the initial agreement was worth around 60 million euros and the amount might stay the same but the Premier League club would seek better terms.
However, a month ago, the Lyon president informed BeIn Sport as cited by Liverpool Echo that he is now hoping to recoup €70million from the player’s sale. So it will be interesting to see what occurs next.
