Arsenal Legend Thierry Henry compares his former club to Chelsea as the race for the Premier League title hots up

Thierry Henry has stated that only Alexis Sanchez would get into the Chelsea team on current form.

Chelsea showed their dominance over Arsenal when they secured an impressive 3-1 win over the north London side at Stamford Bridge to all but end the Gunners’ title hopes.

The blues have the chance to pull 12 points clear at the top of the table if they beat Burnley at Turf Moor when they met on Sunday afternoon – but it ended in a 1-1 draw.

The North London club have been criticised for failing to perform in recent weeks as they moved out of contention in the race for the Premier League crown. They were comfortably beaten by Conte’s Premier League title favourites.

A Mental Stumbling Block

And former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry feels that Arsenal must overcome a mental stumbling block this season if they are to challenge for the title.

Henry speaking on Sky Sports on Saturday said:

“Arsenal beat Chelsea here 3-0 [in September].

“At the end of the game how many Chelsea players would have got into Arsenal’s team?

“Maybe Diego Costa and N’Golo Kante. That’s it.

“Now after the defeat (last weekend) how many Chelsea players would you put in the Arsenal squad? Almost everybody but Sanchez.

“It’s a mental problem (Arsenal) are having at the moment. They need to believe that they can win. The quality is good enough.”

Arsenal dwells in the third position on the EPL table, having same point with second-placed Tottenham.

Thierry Henry Sends Liverpool Warning To Arsenal

Henry talks further of the importance of Arsenal’s crunch Premier League trip to Anfield next month.

The Frenchman has talked up the importance of Arsenal’s Premier League trip to Liverpool come March after the Gunners returned to winning ways in the top flight.

Arsenal embattled manager Arsene Wenger watched his men wrap up a 2-0 win over Hull City at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon as the north London club began to get their season back on track following back to back defeats by the duo of Chelsea and Watford.

Wenger now turn his attentions towards the Champions League last-16 tie against Bayern Munich.

They will make the trip to Anfield to play Liverpool on 4 March in their next Premier League game, and Henry has stated the importance of that game for the north London club.

Henry speaking on Sky Sports after Arsenal’s victory on Saturday said:

“The Liverpool game is going to be massive in between the Bayern Munich games.

“People are saying that they don’t stand a chance against Bayern Munich – obviously Bayern are the favourites but the way Bayern are playing at the moment, they are not that dominant any more and it could be an interesting game actually.

“But the Liverpool game in between those two games is massive. Let’s see if they are back on track at Anfield.”
