According to reports, Manchester United have been handed the opportunity to land Mario Mandzukic from Serie A side Juventus.
Man United shown the green light
The Daily Mail is claiming that Juventus have offered United the opportunity to sign the 32-year-old Croatia international star as they close in on a transfer deal to land Matteo Darmian from United.
As per the same reports, discussions have already been held over a deal for the Serie A side to sign Man United defender Darmian from Premier League side Manchester United in a £12m transfer deal.
The article suggests that the Italian champions have asked the Red Devils whether they would be keen on singing Mandzukic, who according to reports is looking for a fresh challenge.
However, reports also suggest Juve are planning to keep left-back Alex Sandro to a fresh deal, a move which dampens United’s hopes of signing the exciting Brazilian international this summer.
United set to strengthen this summer
The Red Devils are likely to be in the market for a number of players this summer transfer window as manager Jose Mourinho looks to put assemble a squad good enough to clinch the English topflight title next season.
The Premier League giants, who were second this season, have not won the League title since their last success under Alex Ferguson back in the 2012-13 season.
