Fans want club to replace Mustafi with £54m-valued defender, having completed the signing of Lichtsteiner and Leno

France international defender Laurent Koscielny is entering his career’s latter stages and isn’t the same player he use to be.

While North London giants Arsenal have been impressive to bring in a new right full-back and shot-stopper, one department that needs reinforcement is at centre-back.

Germany international defender Shkodran Mustafi continually makes mistakes and the Gunners need to replace him with Kalidou Koulibaly of Serie A side Napoli.

Koulibaly linked with Arsenal move
The Napoli star has been strongly linked with a transfer to the Emirates Stadium in tome past and the Express did suggest that he is a top priority defensive targets for them.

The Senegalese international defender – who’s worth £54 million by Transfermarkt – has over the years emerged as one of Europe’s best defenders since making the switch to the Italian outfit from Belgium club KRC Genk.

Consistent brilliant performer
He has attracted a number of interest from several clubs due to his brilliant performances and was recently connected with a transfer to West London giants Chelsea where it’s speculated that Italian boss Maurizio Sarri wants to make Koulibaly one of his first summer signings.

In defence, the North Londoners frequently struggled and need one commanding presence in the figure of the African at the backline of the side.

Last term, the Gunners conceded 51 goals, the most conceded of all the top seven Premier League teams. If the side want to progress next term under their newly appointed boss this term, manager Unai Emery must address the centre-half position.
