Newly appointed Arsenal boss Unai Emery must strengthen his team ahead of their English Premier League opening day fixture with reigning champions Manchester City. The former Paris Saint Germain manager has already sealed two huge signings for the North London club.
Defensive reinforcements completed
The Emirates outfit have completed the signing of Stephan Lichsteiner and Bernd Leno for an alleged fee of about £19.3million.
The side seems to be extremely upbeat since the arrival of Emery. With the former Sevilla manager in charge, Gunners supporters will get to watch attractive and eye-appealing brand of play next term. Arsenal have failed to end up in the Premier League top-four for two seasons successively and that should be Unai Emery’s men priority during his first season in England.
Utility midfielder could join Arsenal this summer
Now, the Gunners are allegedly keen on signing France international midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, who signed for Sevilla from English side Stoke back in 2015. The Spaniard has worked with the attacker previously for a season during his spell at the La Liga side.
Generally, N’zonzi operates as a central midfielder but he can also play as a deep-lying defensive midfielder. The 29-year-old midfielder played 26 matches in the Spanish La Liga last term, netting 1 goal and creating 2 assists during that period. But he is known for his brilliant attacking instincts
