Arsenal set to pay Barcelona star’s buyout clause as Sanchez nears Manchester City move

According to reports, Arsenal are set to meet the buyout clause of FC Barcelona attacker Jose Arnaiz in the winter transfer window despite speculations over Alexis Sanchez’s future.

The Daily Mirror suggests Alexis Sanchez has agreed on a free to Premier League leaders Manchester City next summer transfer window, so it may be that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is already making plans to replace the Chilean international.

As per Marca, the French tactician is seriously considering a winter offer for highly-rated Barcelona starlet Jose Arnaiz in that role after some brilliant cameos this campaign.

The report suggests Arsenal could even be set to meet his £17million buyout clause so as to speed things along.

Arnaiz, 22, is not a regular starter for his side, but has been handed some opportunities to impress in the Spanish Copa del Rey.

The versatile attacking midfielder, Arnaiz looks a footballer with some lot of potential to end up replacing Sanchez, though the youngster might not be the instant solution.

Arsenal supporters will surely be hoping for some star players arriving up front as it seems increasingly likely that the former Barcelona forward will depart at the end of his current contract next term.
