Manchester United have been keeping tabs of Bayern Munich star player Thomas Muller for some time now, and the striker himself has made it known that he actually ‘thought about’ a move to the club two years back.
Man United have been linked with the German player for several years, and Bayern Munich Chief Jan-Christian Dreesen also made it known that the Old Trafford club had tabled a £91million offer for the 27-year-old last summer.
The Bundesliga champions have however consistently snubbed United’s advances for the striker, but Muller admits he once considered a move to the premier league heavyweights.
Thomas made this known to German outlet Kicker, adding that those at Bayern Munich stopped him from making the move by supporting him and telling him he is meant to stay in the German capital.
“They [Bayern] told me I belonged here…[and that] they needed me and I’m an important player [then] I did not have to think that much anymore.”
The World Cup-winner was also linked with other premier league clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, and there are speculations that Chelsea and Arsenal are planning moves for him when January comes.
Amid the rumours, his current manager at Bayern Carlo Ancelotti also admitted that the experienced striker is not entirely happy at the club as no top player will like sitting on the bench continually.
