Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has been targeted as the man to succeed Maurizio Sarri at the club at the end of this season.

This is according to the publication from Sport Mediaset which revealed that Lampard has impressed senior Chelsea officials and he has been chosen as the successor for Blues boss Maurizio Sarri who’s under pressure to keep his job as the Chelsea manager.

Frank Lampard is the Derby County manager at the moment in the wake of his appointment at the start of this season.

He has enhanced his managerial reputation at Championship club Derby County in his first job as a manager.

Frank Lampard didn’t do his chances of becoming the manager of his beloved club any damage after he led Derby County to the Championship Playoffs final billed for the Wembley Stadium on the 27th of this month.

His Derby County side beat hosts Leeds United 4-2 in the second leg of their Championship Playoffs semifinal tie thereby securing a final spot via a 4-3 aggregate win.

Derby had earlier lost 1-0 to Leeds United at home in their first leg clash only for them to turn the tie around thus becoming the first team to achieve this feat in the history of the Championship Playoffs.
