£13m Playmaker Rubbishes Liverpool Exit Talks

Liverpool playmaker Xerdan Shaqiri has dismissed transfer rumours linking him with a move away from the club during this summer’s transfer window.

According to him, he will stay at with newly crowned Champions League holders Liverpool beyond this summer.

It was earlier revealed that the petite Swiss international player will leave Liverpool this summer after just one season due to a lack of game time.

Xerdan Shaqiri became a Liverpool player last summer shortly after Stoke City suffered relegation from the Premier League at the end of the last campaign.

Liverpool activated the £13m relegation clause in his then contract with Stoke City to secure his transfer in the summer of 2018.

In his recent interview monitored by the Daily Express, Xerdan Shaqiri pointed out that he came to Liverpool to win titles before adding that the target is to win the Premier League next season.

The Swiss international player is a Champions League winner for the second time as an unused substitute during the Champions League final last weekend.

Shaqiri and Liverpool beat North London giants Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 to seal a sixth European title.

For now, the immediate focus for Xerdan Shaqiri is the UEFA Nations League semifinals with his Swiss team billed to face hosts Portugal in the last four of the competition.
