If there’s one player who desperately needs to move elsewhere to save his career, that must be Nathaniel Clyne.
The 27-year-old is not in Klopp’s good book and a move out of Anfield in January is definitely going to happen.
In fact, the England international hasn’t featured in any competitive game for the Reds so far this campaign, despite being in good and perfect condition.
Where is his likely destination?
As per reports from Sky Sports, three Premier League clubs are in intense competition for his services.
The British media suggested that Cardiff City, Leicester City and Fulham are all keen on the former Southampton man.
Cardiff City
Neil Warnock’s men are currently struggling to maintain their League status by the end of the season as they lie helplessly at the 16th position with 11 points — 2 points off the drop zone.
Should he join the Bluebirds, Clyne will definitely get much game time but he’s not sure of playing in the League beyond this season, this is because Cardiff could fail to beat the drop zone.
Warnock is someone who loves a very attacking style of play, hence, the versatile defender will be regularly deployed at the right back position so as to join the attack whenever there is a need for that.
Fulham
Just as Cardiff City, the Cottagers are fighting for their safety.
New manager Claudio Ranieri started his job as Fulham’s boss on a losing note after being defeated by Chelsea last weekend.
The former Leicester City manager is known for his high counter-attacking football, hence, Clyne’s pace and directness are surely going to do the Italian a whole lot of good.
As for Clyne, game time will be certain but his future as Premier League player isn’t secured as the Cottagers presently occupy the last position (20th) on the League table with eight points.
The England international must think twice before making any decision on Fulham’s offer.
Leicester City
The 2015-16 Premier League Champions haven’t been consistent in form this season and they are looking for a defensive midfielder to shake things up for them during this busy period.
Claude Puel is linked with the player’s service but the Foxes didn’t really look like the best destination for the 27-year-old.
Adrien Silva, Wilfred Ndidi, Amatey, Morgan, Mendy are all going to compete with the Liverpool outcast for a place in the team and you know what that means.
Ndidi is a regular and important player for the team, Morgan remains indispensable — as far as Puel and Leicester City are concerned– therefore, Clyne’s future isn’t certain to be at King Power Stadium.
Conclusion
Getting a regular game time should be Clyne’s main priority as that will give him chance to showcase his skills to other interested suitors.
Irrespective of their uncertain Premier League futures, a move to either Cardiff or Fulham looks like the best for the 14-capped England international in January.
