Manchester United saw their side slump again on Sunday evening in their Premier League clash against League leaders Liverpool when they were defeated 3 – 1.

A goal by Senegal international Sadio Mane and another brace by former Stoke City star Xherdan Shaqiri were enough to add salt to the injury of the Old Trafford side.

It has been an inconsistent season for the Jose Mourinho team as they have failed to win a number of games this season which leaves them in the sixth spot in the Premier League table.

United are now 19 points behind the league leaders Liverpool and have shipped in 29 goals in 17 Premier League matches which makes it one of the worst season so far for the English league giants.

All of these pose threat of a league finish outside the top four this season but manager Jose Mourinho has a bigger faith to state that the fight is not over for his team.

He expressed confidence that he can still finish in the top four to qualify for the Champions League this season.

The Portuguese boss noted that his side can no longer win the league but can still qualify to the Champions League next season by finishing n the top 4.
