Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho wants to hold discussions with Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial to deter interest from Arsenal, as per reports.
Martial attracting suitors
The Sun, as cited by the Daily Express, is suggesting that the France international forward is attracting interest from their League rivals Arsenal ahead of the summer window.
The same story states that Anthony Martial is not sure about his long-term Manchester United future despite a promising year at the club so far this season.
According to the same report, Paris Saint-Germain and Carabao Cup finalists Arsenal are both watching Martial closely, who has only over a year left on his current contract.
Martial needs time to prove worth
The Red Devils have the option to extend the attacker’s current contract by an additional season to hand the 22-year-old forward more time to prove his quality himself under Jose Mourinho.
The ex Lyon forward struggled to make a good impression during the Portuguese’ first season as manager at Old Trafford.
However, he has scored nine goals and has provided four assists in 25 matches in the English Premier League this term.
Only Romelu Lukaku has scored more goals than Anthony Martial in the current league season.
The Red Devil’s are in the second position in the League table and a mere two points ahead of Liverpool.
