Transfer Update: Wenger Have No Need Splashing €46M Just On This Midfielder Alone

Tiemoue Bakayoko

Just yesterday, Arsenal officially agreed new deals with star players Coquelin, Koscielny and Giroud. In the same vein, we think the Gunners should also seek to sign new quality players to reinforce the squad this month.

Le10Sport recently claimed that Liverpool and Arsenal have moved in and contacted Ligue 1 side Monaco to sign their highly rated defensive midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko this month. But let us focus on the Gunners.

22-year-old Bakayoko is a quality player, and that is why various top clubs are interested in signing him. Also due to his value, Monaco do not want to lose the Frenchman and rate him around £40million pounds. Nevertheless, we don’t think Arsenal really needs him.

In the last summer transfer window, Arsenal spend some reasonable money to sign a top quality defensive midfielder like Granit Xhaka from German side Borussia Monchengladbach.

They additionally have a strong holding midfielder in the person of Francis Coquelin and even Egyptian international Mohamed Elneny has proved to be effective in the Defensive Midfield role.

With this in view, it will be absolutely baffling if Arsenal should still spend huge and sign another holding midfield star in the person of Bakayoko.

If Arsene Wenger have the funds available to sign new players, let him spend it on securing a right fullback because his team seriously lack quality depth in that position.
