Former European champions Chelsea are plotting a move for highly rated Marseille defender Boubacar Kamara according to various media reports.
Media outlet Mercato 365 reveal that the Blues sent scouts to run the rule over the 19-year-old centre back at the weekend.
Chelsea scouts were in attendance as Boubacar Kamara helped Marseille to a 2-1 win over hosts Dijon at the Stadia Gaston Gerard on Friday night.
The young defender could be a direct replacement for experienced English centre back Gary Cahill whose time at Stamford Bridge is coming to an end.
The 33-year-old defender is expected to end his Chelsea career at the end of his Blues contract this summer.
Gary Cahill could have left the club during the recently concluded winter transfer window but he rejected several offers to see out his contract with the West London giants.
European clubs like AS Monaco, Juventus and Fulham wanted to sign the former Bolton Wanderers and Aston Villa player only for him to decide that he will stay at the club till this summer.
Chelsea also have transfer doubts over centre backs David Luiz and Andreas Christensen.
David Luiz has six months left on his current deal at the club, while Christensen wants to leave the club due to a lack of first team opportunities.
