Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has criticised the duo of Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard for practicing their goal celebration at the club on social media while performances have dipped.
On Tuesday, a video was released on Pogba’s Instagram account that shows the pair dancing with youngster Timothy Fosu-Mensah behind the camera at United’s training ground.
Of course, this is not actually the first time they have shown off their moves on social media as they have performed lots of well-choreographed celebrations on and off the pitch this season.
Ferdinand however was of the opinion that such rehearsal would have never happened under Sir Alex Ferguson at Man United.
Ferdinand stated that he’ve dug out Arsenal players for things like this before and it would be wrong of him not to speak about Man United players.
He insisted that he isn’t against fun and he won’t want to take away Pogba’s happy free spirit, but:
“I think there is timing and there’s getting the balance right when you’re doing these things.
“If that comes out just after you have just got to a cup final, you’ve won the cup final, won the league or something like that, listen I’d be pushing that out all over. I’d be the first one to be doing that.” he stated.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the pair getting on well and enjoying themselves. However, the issue is that the timing wasn’t the best as Man United had just lost their unbeaten run (even though they managed to get into the League Cup final).
