Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has urged impressive player David Luiz to forget about his stunning free-kick in his side’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool at the Anfield on Tuesday night. He instead wants him to switch his attention to the clash against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The defender scored one of the best goals of this season with a swerving free-kick which beat goalkeeper Simon Mignolet in the first half to break the deadlock at Anfield.
The Reds however managed to hit back in the second half through Georginio Wijnaldum after the midfielder headed home from close range in the second half to snatch a point for his side.
David Luiz endured an injury scare during the first half when he appeared to have picked up a knock following a collision with Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana.
Conte speaking at his post-match media conference warned the Brazilian defender that he couldn’t afford to dwell on his free-kick ahead of the big London derby on Saturday afternoon.
“Between Willian and David Luiz there is a great feeling. He kicked a great free-kick. I am pleased for David because he is playing very well,”
“It is important for him to forget this goal and keep the concentration for the next game against Arsenal.” Conte said
