According to latest media reports, 2017 English Premier League champions Chelsea are moving closer to appointing a new head coach to replace former Italy and Juventus manager, Antonio Conte.
Chelsea agree to a deal with Sarri
As per a report by The Telegraph, the West London giants are close to agreeing to a transfer deal that would see ex-SC Napoli head coach Maurizio Sarri take over the helms at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, British publications the Sun suggest that the managerial announcement of the Italian tactician as the new boss of Chelsea Football Club could come on any moment from now.
Current Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is still contracted with the West Londoners but it has been reported since the conclusion of the campaign that Blues Billionaire owner Roman Abramovich is seeking a replacement for the Italian boss.
Sarri appointment imminent
Serie A side Napoli have already employed former Chelsea, AC Milan, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti as Maurizio Sarri’s successor, but the Blues will still have to cough out a transfer fee to get Maurizio Sarri as he is still contracted with Napoli.
Before now, it was suggested there was an issue between Russian Billionaire Abramovich and Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis over the said release clause.
