Arsenal experienced defender Laurent Koscielny has confessed that league leaders Chelsea showed a greater work ethic as a team in his side’s 3-1 loss to the blues and has called on his club to show more efficiency on both ends.
Conte’s men moved 12 points clear of Arsenal on Saturday as goals from the trio of Marcos Alonso, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas gave them a dominant 3-1 win over Wenger’s men.
The match was another case of Arsenal’s biggest stars not performing as expected in a big game and Koscielny has admitted that his club were outplayed by Chelsea, saying that the blues bested them when it came to playing as a unit.
The defender also feels that his side failed to make use of any of their chances in the game whereas their opponent made each of their own opportunities on goal count.
After the game however, Koscielny told the Arsenal official website:
“I don’t think we played very well together in the same way, it was more one player after one player.”
Arsenal will play Hull City at home next weekend where they look to return back to winning ways before taking Bayern Munich in a Champions League clash.
Arsenal’s loss to Chelsea has reopened the debate about Arsene Wenger’s future at the club as the Frenchman’s contract set to expire at the end of the season.
This season so far Laurent Koscielny has an 87% pass accuracy in the Premier League and has won 57% of his tackles.
