Two Arsenal stars, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, have reportedly asked for a huge pay rise from the club as they currently negotiate deals to extend their stay at the club with 18 months left on their contracts.

This was revealed by various reports in the British media with London Evening Standard news outlet specifically stating that the two influential players for the Gunners’ want their wages to be at par with the £290,000 weekly wages earned by Manchester United and French midfielder Paul Pogba, who sealed a world record £89m move from Italian Serie A champions Juventus to the Old Trafford club in the summer.

German playmaker Mesut Ozil is presently on £140,000 a week deal as confirmed by the previously mentioned British paper but moving Paul Pogba’s wages would render the salary cap at Arsenal useless adding that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, currently earning £160,000, is of the belief that no player should earn more than the manager while other reports claimed that the club is willing to offer the them £200,000 weekly wages, which could proved not enough for the two influential players.

Alexis Sanchez has been in superb form of late with 5 goals in his last two league games and 13 goals in all competition while Mesut Ozil has also weighed in with 8 goals since the start of this season.
