Arsenal legend Thierry Henry was critical of Germany international Shkodran Mustafi’s display in Arsenal’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Struggle to convince fans
The ex-Valencia defender is yet to convince Arsenal fans since his £35million transfer to the Emirates back in 2016.
The Arsenal central defender showed no strength in defence to allow Argentine striker Sergio Aguero to open the scoring in the 18th moment with his 30th goal of the campaign across all competitions.
The Manchester City forward managed to escape Mustafi, who was calling for a free-kick, before the prolific striker lifted a finish over David Ospina in goal for Arsenal.
Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany extended the lead in the second half of the tie when the big centre-half deflected Gundogan’s shot into Arsenals net.
Comprehensive defeat
City completed a 3-0 victory thanks to Davis Silva’s finish 25 minutes from finish time to seal the Spanish coach’s first silverware as City manager.
Henry wasn’t impressed with the German’s attempts to stop the South American striker after the forward scored on a comfortable Sunday afternoon for the League leaders.
The Citizens will make the trip to Emirates Stadium in their next English Premier League match on Thursday.
